Tuesday
- Met at the airport by 2 ministers
- Minister for prisons
- Minister for minorities
- Arrayed with flowers and full diplomatic welcome
- Police escort with 10+ armed guards
- Arrived at Holiday in Lahore and had briefing meeting with Minister of minorities and Ps Iftikar
- Prayed for the trip and for great things to happen
Wednesday
- Woke up real early
- had full escort to the prison and through the city with the minister of minorities and media
- arrived at prison was met by the governor of the prison and informed of the facts
- 4201 prisoners
- 1700 awaiting trial
- Rest are tried and serving sentences Prisoners can be released early for good behaviour
- Very well maintained jail
- Mosque and church in courtyard next to each other
- Steve ministered in the Jail church
- Governor stayed for the service
- Prayed for the sick
- Encouraged the prisoners
- Media interview after the interview with the governor
- Governor was very happy with the visit and would like to work with us in the future
- Left the jail and went back to the hotel passing the refugees from the Swat Valley
- Over 2.5 million people displace
- Some are in major cities o Most are in tent camps
- Community outreach for food and clothing on most streets, driven to refugees by truck
Thursday
- First day of the leadership conference
- Trouble securing the generators due to loss of power in Lahore
- In a catholic compound
- Opposite a building that was bombed last year Killing 35 civilians
- Over 200 leaders present
- Leader of Seventh day Adventist church as interpreter
- PS Steve preached an excellent message on faith and taught on the speaking the word and being bold
- After the message Ps Steve challenged the leaders saying “God will confirm His word with signs and wonders”
- PS Steve called out a woman with cancer and prayed for her, the power of god touched her and she was instantly healed, the tumour was gone
- Leaders were very encouraged by the message and are excited about the up and coming meetings
- The Seventh day leader complimented PS Steve on the message saying it was just the message the people needed to spark the hope and encouraged all his people by saying PS Steve has truly taught the word.
- Arrived back at the hotel and had a meeting with PS Iftikar to discuss the up and coming meetings
- PS Iftikar arrived back at the hotel at 1:30 am while we were sleeping, looking very excited
- After seeing he was with the assistant to the governor of Punjab we were also very keen to hear what was going on
- The assistant had been charged to keep an eye on the meetings
- The assistant had been watching all the meetings closely
- At 11 pm the assistant was woken by a vision of Jesus!
- The assistant woke Iftikar and told him what he had seen, iftikar prayed with him as he gave his life to Jesus
- Ps Steve prayed with the assistant and spoke with him as he said “ I have never felt this peace before”
- Another Minister of government , unnamed has also seen a vision of Jesus and given his life to Jesus Friday
- Met with the Governor of Punjab state
- Ps Steve spoke about plans for the future
- Governor invited the investment offering land and security for the project
- Ps Steve prayed for the Governor and the peace of Pakistan
- Leadership conference was at full capacity
- Ps Steve taught a riveting message on end times and invited the leaders back for another conference in the future to learn more on the subject
- The leaders were excited about learning about end times (a subject most had no idea about) and all are very excited about the future conferences.
- Ps Steve topped the conference off with an exciting message on healing and the power of God, how people should pray and demonstrated!
- Ps Steve asked if there was any deaf? There was one man who got immediately healed!
- Ps Steve asked if there were any blind? The same man (an elderly pastor) had also been going blind. Ps Steve prayed for his eyes and his sight improved dramatically
- The conference was drawn to a close with Ps Steve praying for the leaders individually
- A young man received a word he was going to be an evangelist, which was greatly encouraging
- The conference was a tremendous success seeing Seventh day, Baptists ,Methodists, Catholic, Evangelical, Pentecostal and various other groups uniting as one under Jesus
- The Pastors have requested a crusade in Lahore which Ps Steve was delighted to say yes to do
- The security was fantastic and the conference a success beyond our understanding
